    FAQ

Many of today’s plastic food containers are “Microwave Safe”, or made to withstand microwave temperatures. Mr. Lid is Microwave Safe and can be used in the microwave with the lid lifted to allow the food to vent.

Once filled with food and sealed tightly, Mr. Lid containers conveniently stack inside of a refrigerator to create more space. We recommend stacking same-size containers or stacking smaller containers on top of larger ones for better organization.

Yes. Wash either in your dishwasher top rack under a normal cycle (use a low heat cycle for drying) or hand-wash with warm water and dish soap and rinse well. Towel or air dry.

Wipe all food products, grease and oil from Mr. Lid before washing.

Highly acidic foods like tomatoes and brightly dyed products like fruit drinks can stain plastics. To prevent Mr. Lid from staining when storing and heating foods like tomato sauce, spray the inside of the container with a non-flavored vegetable oil spray. Do not overheat foods in Mr. Lid.

Utensils will scratch plastic containers. While these scratches will not impact the performance of Mr. Lid, they do create surface irregularities that can trap bacteria and food stains. Check your containers for scratches from knives, forks and spoons and, if present, clean effectively. Oxidizing cleaners like Polident (for dentures) and OxiClean are effective for cleaning scratched surfaces.

Plastic containers can smell like the foods they store – even after washing. Simply wash them with a baking soda and water solution or use vinegar to remove the odor.
